Christmas week is going strong, and before getting into today’s song of the day I have to get some things straight. I hate Sufjan Stevens. I just can’t deal with his overly precious indie mess and his love of Christmas, but this year he did something awesome. Sure, he released another box-set of him bringing his fake joy to the holiday, but he also released a crazy Chopped & Scrooged mixture featuring production from his Asthmatic Kitty buddies and famous rappers. Today’s X-Mas song comes from a 2012 break-out star, 19-year-old Floridian Kitty Pryde.

Pryde’s mixture Haha, I’m Sorry takes witch-house beats and mixes them with her relaxed rap style, with plenty of laughs. Is she kidding, or is she dead serious? Well, who knows and who cares, because “Okay Cupid” is a flat-out jam. Pryde lends her talents to “Implants and Yankee Candles,” a highlight from Chopped & Scrooged produced by one of the better Asthmatic Kitty groups. The track doesn’t stray from Pyrde’s reduction of bodiless vocal grumbles and head warping sounds, and it may just be one of the most non-traditional Christmas songs ever.
