Photo by BsivadFILM: The 23rd annual Washington DC Jewish Film Festival kicks off today and continues through January 13, with 55 films and other events (including a U Street pub crawl) around the city. This evening’s events will take place at the United States Navy Memorial and include an opening night reception and two screenings of the film Paris Manhattan at 6:15 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. There are numerous ticket options, including a festival pass, individual screening tickets, and special events prices.
ART PARTY: Phillips After 5 wants to take you on an Arctic Expedition this evening, celebrating Denmark and Greenland. The evening will include an Instagram Lego Challenge, beer tasting from New Belgium Brewing Company, and a gallery talk on the Phillips Collection founders’ mission. 5:00-8:30 p.m. $10-$12.
JAZZ: As mentioned in yesterday’s This Week in Jazz, Chris Thomas King, “best known for the Robert Johnson-esque character he portrayed in the hit Coen Brothers film, O Brother, Where Art Thou?,” plays Blues Alley (1073 Wisconsin Avenue NW ) for four nights, starting tonight. Sets at 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. $22.50 + $12.50 minimum/surcharge.
MUSIC: The Fuse Ensemble combines music and multimedia on the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage (2700 F Street NW) tonight. 6:00 p.m. Free.
