Jangley indie pop will always be around, and unlike other genres, it will never go out of fashion because it is almost never fully “in fashion.” Veronica Falls are an indie-pop London four-piece and are set to release their sophomore record Waiting for Something to Happen on February 13. The band’s first album was pretty grim and gothy, but their new record is full of brighter melodies, despite retaining the darker tone of love and loss in their lyrics. Today’s Song of the Day, “Teenage,” is a straightforward indie-pop track about reminiscing on those awkward years when you think you have everything figured out (but you don’t).

Veronica Falls plays March 6 with Cold Showers and Cheatahs at the Black Cat. Tickets are $13.
