D.C.’s Teen Mom have gotten a lot of critical praise from the D.C. community, but they have yet to get their own Song of the Day. Well, today the band is playing with Ava Luna at DC9, so what better time to spotlight one of the most exciting new bands from this area?

Teen Mom play fuzzy and jangley pop in the vein of Real Estate and C-86. Today’s song of the day “I Wanna Go Out,” from their debut EP Mean Tom, is a highlight. While other tracks on the record are more relaxed, “I Wanna Go Out” shows a band racing towards the finish line at breakneck pace.
