>> Inauguration, woof. The most insanely federal day this city experiences every four years is behind us. But, if you want one more look at our coverage from yesterday’s presidential fêting, read about the time we spent with those who trekked for hours to get a half-decent view, Mayor Vince Gray’s protest sign, the garbage inaugural spectators ditched on the sidewalk, and Michelle Obama’s inaugural ball gown.

>> You might have heard that some poorly managed sports league recently stopped itself from the brink of irrelevancy. Anyway, now that the National Hockey League is back, the Chinatown bars and restaurants that depend on the Washington Capitals’ season to fill out their taverns aren’t so depressed anymore, The Washington Post reports. The general manager of the Gallery Place location of Clyde’s says his restaurant lost $150,000 a month during the NHL lockout.

>> Helen E. Dragas, the University of Virginia rector who incensed the school and its alumni last summer when she forced a brief ouster of President Teresa A. Sullivan, was re-appointed yesterday by the Virginia Senate. Dragas, a political fundraiser, was given another four-year term on a 29-9 vote, the Post reports. The senators who voted against Dragas said she has not satisfactorily explained the Charlottesville coup.
