Quicksand formed in 1990 and went on to release two albums, Slip and Manic Compression, before calling it quits in 1995.The band reformed in 1997 and played live in 1998 while recording a third album, but again split before releasing the record in 1999, leaving the album to be distributed through fan bootlegs on the Internet. Though the band went on to form other projects, like the influential Rival Schools, their Quicksand material became post-hardcore classics and inspired a new generation of bands. Last year the band reformed for a second time and are now in the midst of U.S. tour with a date tonight at the Black Cat. Today’s song of the day is the first track off their album Slip, “Fazer.” The classic track is heavy on the drums and guitar with singer Walter Schreifels trademark vocals.
Quicksand play tonight with Cymbals Eat Guitars at the Black Cat. Tickets are Sold Out.
