>> As part of the neo-soul movement born over a decade ago, vocalist Musiq Soulchild made his mark with his debut album, Aijuswanaseing. From there, the Philly native has garnered a slew of nominations and accolades. He’ll be at the Howard Theatre. $35 in advance / $40 at the door. 8 p.m.

>> Russian-born, London-raised producer DJ Vadim is at Tropicalia where he’ll be joined by Fort Knox Five. $10. 9 p.m.

>> “Philanthrobeat” celebrates eight years of the “Decipher” radio program on WPFW and 11 years of the non-profit Word, Beats & Life, Inc. through the music of the Soulquarians music collective at Liv. Spinning the evening’s tunes will be several of the “Decipher” DJs: RBI, 2-Tone Jones, Book, Jahsonic, Stylus and Bush Head Ed. $10. 9 p.m.

Friday:
>> “Moneytown” returns as DJ Nitekrawler plays host to Prince Paul of Stetsasonic, De La Soul, Handsome Boy Modelling School and Negroes On Ice production fame. Prince Paul will be spinning a strictly 45 RPM record set at Little Miss Whiskey’s. Free. 9 p.m.

Saturday:
>> Twenty years ago when The Pharcyde released their Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde album, they expanded the perception of West Coast hip-hop beyond “gangsta” rap. Led by the single “Passin’ Me By”, the album was a journey filled with sonic and lyrical uniqueness. The crew will be in town at the Howard Theatre celebrating the anniversary of their debut’s release. $20 in advance / $25 at the door. 8 p.m.
