When beloved Baltimore band Double Dagger called it quits, it was a sad day for the scene. Drummer Denny Brown, though, brought something to fill the void—and then some. His four-piece Roomrunner is one of the most exciting bands to come out in a long time. The band is pure grunge with loads of feedback, slotted somewhere between Nirvana and Sonic Youth. The band is playing with Ty Segall tomorrow night, and while that show is sold out, don’t fret as they are coming back on February 22 to play with Paraquet Courts. Today’s Song of the Day is the title track from Roomrunner’s latest EP Super Vague. The song is a headbanger with loads of feedback that absolutely kills in a live setting.
