FaltyDL, nee Drew Lustman, is a beat producer from Connecticut who gained some massive buzz with his 2011 album You Stand Uncertain and his follow-up EP Atlantis. Influenced by a wide array of music, from jazz and hip-hop to garage and disco, Lustman just released his best and most assured album, Hardcourage, a week ago. Tonight he hits the decks of U Street Music Hall, and today’s Song of the Day, “She Sleeps,” is one of the album’s highlights. The quieter house track has some vocal assistance from Friendly Fires’ Ed MacFarlane, whose shifting voice and sweet falsetto keeps up with the groove as it locks in and out.
