Insect Factory is one of the true noise makers in the area. Jeff Barsky’s project meshes drone and lush production to make epics out of guitar solos and blank space. While there are no vocals, it’s certainly possible for the listener to cull their own interpretation from the soundscapes he creates. Barsky is prepping a new Insect Factory record this year, his second in two years, and he is playing the Black Cat tonight. Today’s Song of the Day is a new song he has posted, “Frozen Hands.” The track is full of buzzy hypnotic guitar bursts laden with metallic feedback.
Insect Factory play tonight with Mice Parade at the Black Cat. Tickets are $12.
