Does the 10-ton meteorite that exploded over western Siberia Friday morning portend doom for us all? Maybe! But we just wanted to dispel one thing real quickly. Meteors—and other astronomical phenomena—are not connected to global climate change.
But don’t bother trying that line on The Washington Times’ Emily Miller, who offered this prediction for how the U.S. government might respond to to the incident over Chelyabinsk, Russia that caused at least 1,000 people to be injured when the meteorite’s explosion blew out glass windows all over the city.
Cue Obama to blame the Russian meteor on global warming.
