Thursday:
>> If hooliganism had a soundtrack, Brownsville Brooklyn’s M.O.P. would probably be featured prominently. Best known for hype-up anthem “Ante Up”, Lil’ Fame and Billy Danze got their start in the early 1990s, most notably with the track “How About Some Hardcore”. They’ll be joined at the Howard Theatre by another ’90s Brooklyn crew, Smif-N-Wessun. $19.50 in advance / $23 at the door. 8 p.m.

>> MURS has been a mainstay on the underground rap scene for years now, having expanded from his L.A. base to the world through thought-provoking rhymes and collaborations with the likes of producer 9th Wonder. He’ll be at DC9 along with Prof, Fashawn and Black Cloud Music. $16 in advance / $18 at the door. 8 p.m.

Friday:
>> Raekwon‘s status as a member of the Wu-Tang Clan already puts him in elite hip-hop company, never mind his 1995 release, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…, is considered a classic in many circles. With a new album album slated to drop in the coming months, The Chef will be at the Howard Theatre. $23 in advance / $27 at the door. 8 p.m.

>> “Summit” features three of the area’s best DJs, Sam “The Man” Burns, Jahsonic and Underdog spinning a good deal of house music. Tropicalia is the venue. $5 after 10 p.m. 9 p.m.

Saturday:
>> “Axel F.” is back with a tribute to go-go and hip-hop. DJs Jahsonic, Stylus and Adrian Loving are supplying the sounds again at Liv. $5 before 11 p.m. / $10 after 11 p.m. 10 p.m.

>> NYC-based Ratking will be at DC9 along with Beyond Modern and Ardamus. $10. 10 p.m.

Sunday:
>> With recent art exhibits, a documentary and even controversy over a doughnut shop, D.C.’s 1980s art and music scenes are getting a much deserved second look. Keeping in line with that is the “DC Funk-Punk Throwback Jam”, which celebrates D.C.’s rich punk and go-go histories. On hand at the 9:30 Club will be Henry Rollins, DJ Kool of “Let Me Clear My Throat” fame and Trouble Funk, among others. $25. 3 p.m.
