Psych rockers Tame Impala have come a long way since their ear-melting 2010 debut, InnerSpeaker. With comparisons to the Beatles, Pink Floyd and countless others, the band had big shoes to fill and massive hype surrounding their sophomore release. Rather then disappoint fans, the band hunkered down and created and even bigger record in Lonerism. The new album sounds like it was worked on extensively—every sound fits and nothing is out of place. Tonight the band plays a very sold-out show at 9:30 Club, and today’s song of the day is one on the best tracks from Lonerism, “Feels Like We Only Go Backwards.” The track starts with the instantly catchy chorus then effortlessly floats through three minutes of pop-psych bliss.
Tame Impala plays tonight with The Growl at 9:30 Club. Tickets are Sold-Out.
