Last year Copenhagen trio Efterklang released their fourth album Piramida, but they only played one U.S. date. Now, five months after its release, the band is playing a rack of show—including tonight’s D.C. date. It’s a good thing the band kept off of touring, because it allows fans to soak in their new album and all of its intricate soundscapes and structures. The band’s music has a wintery gloomy feel, like today’s song of the day, the elegant track “The Living Layer.” The song slowly builds, much like falling snow.

Efterklang plays tonight with Jherk Bischoff and Spirit Animal at the Rock and Roll Hotel. Tickets are $12.
