FOOD & DRINK: After a month off, Art and Soul (415 New Jersey Avenue NW) is open again and celebrating with a three-course Welcome Back, Art and Soul dinner menu available tonight through March 17. Choose from dishes like crispy fried pig head, shrimp and grits, heritage pork, and red wine braised short rib. Save room for dessert, the Grasshopper Parfait sounds delectable: chocolate brownie cake, frozen mint souffle, chocolate cookie crumbs, toasted marshmallow, and fudge sauce. $35.

COMEDY: Beginning tonight and continuing through the month, comedians go head-to-head in The March Madness of Comedy, put on by The Capital City Showcase and District Comedy. In weekly shows audience members will vote for their favorite funny guy (or girl), until the 30 comics that began the month will be whittled down to 6 who will perform at the finals at the DC Arts Center on Saturday, March 23. Round one begins tonight at Fire Station 1 (8131 Georgia Avenue Silver Spring MD) at 7:30 p.m. with 10 comics. Free.

MOVIES: What do you get when you film a group of children at age seven, then check in with each of them again every seven years? You get a series of films that capture “life-changing decisions and surprising developments.” See the latest installment of the series, 56 Up at E Street Cinema (555 11th Street NW) tonight. 5:15 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. $11.50.

THURSDAY: 1905 Bistro & Bar (1905 9th Street NW) is dishing out a four-course DC Brau Beer Dinner this Thursday. The meal begins with an oyster shooter (incorporating the DC Brau Citizen), followed by house-smoked pork belly paired with DC Brau Penn Quarter Porter, brau-brined salmon paired with DC Brau Saint Joseph’s Tripel, crisp-skin duck breast paired with DC Brau Ghoul’s Night Out, and finishes with “coffee and doughnuts” paired with DC Brau Barrel-Aged Penn Quarter Porter. Come early (5:00-7:00 p.m.) for a pint of DC Brau’s Tripel on the roof deck. 7:30 p.m. $80.12 (includes tax, tip, and DC Brau glass to take home).

FRIDAY: Story League tournament winners share new tales at the Story League All-Stars event at Black Cat (1811 14th Street NW) this Friday to celebrate Story League’s second anniversary. 9:00 p.m. Tickets: $12.

SATURDAY: The Our City Film Festival kicks off for the sixth year this Saturday as a part of the Intersections festival at Atlas Performing Arts Center (1333 H Street NE). All films in the festival are DC-focused, and organizers “encourage filmmakers to make films that will bring our communities together and celebrate the rich cultures, stories and scenes that make up Washington, DC.” Check out the full schedule here and attend the free Opening Night Party this Saturday from 9:30 p.m. to midnight in the Atlas Center lobby. There will be live music from jazz/ ragtime/pre-war country band The Bumper Jacksons and a cash bar.
