>> Over a decade ago, “Standing in the Shadows of Motown” documentary highlighted the integral role the Funk Brothers played as the backing band for Motown’s big hits in the 1960s. Tonight at the Howard Theatre, Peabo Bryson, Leela James and bassist James Jamerson, Jr. will pay homage to the spirit and talent that birthed those classic tunes. $35 in advance / $40 at the door. 8 p.m.
