Scott Weiland, the former frontman (?) of the Stone Temple Pilots, is playing the Howard Theatre tonight with his new band, The Wildabouts. While Weiland may have a solo album and a Christmas album, he is sticking to what fans want and playing selections from STP’s first two albums, Core and Purple. Today’s song of the day is a live recording shot on the first day of Weiland’s tour with him and his band playing the STP hit “Wicked Garden.” The band might not have the chops of STP—but Weiland still has his trademark voice.
