Ireland’s Little Green Cars made big waves with their debut EP gaining them a label deal with the hot shit Glassnote Records (Mumford & Sons, Phoenix). The five-piece has the alt-country sound that is all the rage right now, and the band’s forthcoming record Absolute Zero is a stunner. They have impressed crowds on both shores including our SXSW writer Valerie Paschall who stated the show she caught down in Austin was “one of the happiest accidents of the whole festival.” Tonight you can catch the band at DC9, and today’s song of the day is the band’s single “Harper Lee.” The track starts quiet with just an acoustic guitar and vocalist Stevie Appleby but once the track gets in gear the band gets serious with a five piece harmony that sticks with you.
Little Green Cars play tonight at DC9 with Olivia Mancini and East Ghost. Tickets are $12.
