Step aside President Obama, because Mayor Vince Gray’s now has a weekly radio address.
Reporter Matt DelSignore tweeted this afternoon that Gray will give a weekly three-minute radio address on WNEW 99.1 FM; his inaugural address will happen this Sunday at 10:05 a.m.
Beyond being a good opportunity for Gray to get a message across—he also does monthly sit downs with NewsChannel 8’s Bruce DePuyt and DCN’s “Inside One City“—it’s something of a coup for WNEW, a CBS radio station that only launched last year and is still behind WAMU and WTOP in the ratings.
A WNEW press release confirmed that “[t]he address will be of similar format to the president’s weekly radio address.”
DC @mayorvincegray will deliver weekly radio address on All News 99.1. Hear it this and every Sunday morning at 10:05.
