>> D.C. Fire & EMS Chief Kenneth Ellerbe underwent hours of questioning before a D.C. Council committee yesterday on the state of the city’s fire and emergency response capacities, reports the Post. And while he tried to quiet concerns that there aren’t enough paramedics available and that his fleet is in disrepair, legislators didn’t seem convinced. A series of controversies have rocked the department in recent weeks; Ellerbe has in part blamed firefighters for continuing staffing issues.
>> So here’s a story about a dirty old man: the Post writes that a 68-year-old from Fredericksburg was arrested after taping pictures of nude women to his front door. Neighbors were quick to complain about the images on James Albert Frost’s door, and said that he also made inappropriate sexual remarks.
>> Virginians love their guns, but they don’t love people knowing that they have guns. The Washington Times reports that a majority of Virginians support keeping private the names of those residents who have concealed carry permits. According to a poll, 60 percent of respondents think the information should be kept confidential.
