With the At-Large special election a mere three weeks away, the seven contenders for a spot on the D.C. Council are knocking on doors, sending out mailers, making calls, refining their pitches, and…doing the Harlem Shake?

Apparently. Former councilmember Michael Brown’s campaign today released two videos of campaign volunteers doing the Harlem Shake. Why? We’re not sure either, but Brown’s campaign says that the videos were made by young volunteers.

We’ll reserve judgement, though we will opine that this probably won’t change the outcome of the April 23 balloting. Unless the Harlem Shake really that powerful a meme, that is…
