There are plenty of bands who have terrible names that actually make good music. Diarrhea Planet is just one of those bands. Yes, their name is gross, but their music is anything but shitty. The six-member punk band hails from the country music capital of the world, Nashville, and have been known to start a ruckus. Their debut album came out in 2011, and since then the band has been destroying stages all around the country, while also preparing their second album due this May. Tonight they are playing Casa Fiesta here in D.C. and today’s song of the day is a highlight from their debut “Orange Girls.” The track has interlocking guitars that are like rays of sunlight, and singer Jordan Smith’s Andrew WK inflected vocals shout over the track. This is going to be one hell of a show, so don’t miss it!
Diarrhea Planet plays with The Human Fly and Bella Russia at Casa Fiesta (4910 Wisconsin Avenue NW) tonight. Tickets are $8.
