Dolci Gelati via FacebookDolci Gelati, the six-year-old dessert company, is finally getting a storefront tomorrow when it opens up its first shop in Takoma Park. And between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., owners Gianluigi and Anastasia Dellaccio and Marcello Minna, will be selling two-for-one scoops of their frozen Italian confections.
Gianluigi Dellaccio launched the gelato company after a stint as the pastry chef at Roberto Donna’s Galileo. Since its 2007 beginnings, Dolci Gelati has been sold in many area restaurants, the freezers at Whole Foods Market, and dessert lines at Nationals Park. The company boasts a recipe list of more than 300 flavors, though obviously not all of them will be available at the same time at the new Dolci Gelati Café.
The shop will also feature one variety as the designated “Social Good” flavor, sales of which will be donated to the United Nations Foundation’s Shot@Life.
Dolci Gelati Café is located at 7000 Carroll Avenue in Takoma Park. The company is also planning a second brick-and-mortar location at the City Market at O development in Shaw.
