BEER: Bier Baron (1523 22nd Street NW) launches a new Brewer’s Seminar Series tonight bringing in brewers and beers from Devils Backbone, DC Brau, and The Brewer’s Art. Come out to taste and talk beer. 7:00-9:30 p.m. $39 (includes nine beer tastings).

BOOKS: Stock up on some summer reading at Carpe Librum (1030 17th Street NW) a pop-up used book sale that raises money for D.C. public school programs and saves books, DVDs, and CDs from ending up in landfills. 10:00 a.m.-7:30 p.m.

MUSIC: Louisiana band Royal Teeth brings dance-pop to the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage (2700 F Street NW) tonight as part of The Music of New Orleans series. 6:00 p.m. Free.

FOOD & DRINK: The National Building Museum (401 F Street NW) hosts Taste of the Nation this evening, featuring “the city’s best chefs, restaurants and mixologists who lend their time and talent to help raise the critical funds necessary to help ensure no kid goes hungry.”7:00-10:00 p.m. $105.

TUESDAY: Spring weather is finally here, just in time for P.J. Clarke’s (1600 K Street NW) Patio Opening Party tonight. Head over, and hang outside, enjoying 50 cent oysters and $3.50 DC Brau. 5:00-8:00 p.m.

WEDNESDAY: DC Bike Party is going on a “Cherry Blossom Chase” this Wednesday, a 10-mile bike ride from Dupont Circle, past some landmarks, and ending at The Biergarten Haus on H Street for a rooftop party with happy hour deals. Dress up in your best “tourist wear,” meet up at 7:30 p.m., and hit the streets at 8:00 p.m. Free.

THURSDAY: The 27th annual Filmfest DC, an international film festival, kicks off this Thursday with a screening of Underground: The Julian Assange Story at Regal Cinemas Gallery Place followed by a party at Bar Louie. 7:00 p.m. Tickets: $30.

FRIDAY: National Museum of African Art (950 Independence Avenue SW) is throwing the Francophonie Closing Night Party this Friday, an African Soiree. The evening will include performances by singer-songwriter Kaïssa, a fashion show of African-fusion designs, and dancing. 8:00 p.m.-midnight. $35-$125.

SATURDAY: Hank’s Oyster Bar is throwing their 6th Annual Oyster Fest at their Dupont location (1624 Q Street NW) this Saturday. Indulge in all-you-can-eat oysters prepared in a variety of ways (on the half shell, fried, BBQ) along with popcorn shrimp, Old Bay fries, and onion rings. Wash it all down with all-you-can-drink beer (Elysian Brewery, 21st Amendment, Laguintas, and Flying Dog). 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. $80.

SUNDAY: Celebrate the Thai New Year event at Wat Thai Temple’s (13440 Layhill Road, Silver Spring MD) anunal event this Sunday.
