Cue AC/DC.

Cue AC/DC.

Earlier this morning, thundered boomed across the city’s sky. The thunder was so loud, in fact, that some folks in Cleveland Park took it to be explosion. Well, they were half right.

The D.C. firefighters union tweeted at 7:08 a.m. that it had been called to respond to a possible “explosion” at 34th and Ordway Streets NW. But according to a fire scanner, the firefighters didn’t find any evidence of an explosion, much less a fire or any damage to homes. They did find that lightning had struck a tree, though no injuries or damage was reported.

The thunder set off car alarms and shook windows, prompting many a joke over Twitter that maybe North Korea did have those nuclear missiles ready to go after all.
