Well, this moment might have been inevitable, but here it is. Julia Louis-Dreyfus, the star of the HBO satire Veep, recently swung through D.C. to promote the show’s second season which begins Sunday. So of course that junket included a meeting with her real-life counterpart.

Louis-Dreyfus had lunch today at the White House with Vice President Joe Biden. During her visit to the West Wing, Louis-Dreyfus got a tour of Biden’s office, and talked shop with the real vice president about what it means to be No. 2 in a presidential administration. On Veep, Louis-Dreyfus plays Selina Meyer, a rather powerless second banana to an unseen president, whereas Biden is considered one of the most powerful vice presidents in U.S. history.

Still, that didn’t stop Louis-Dreyfus from offering Biden some job advice. The White House had her record this week’s installment of “Being Biden,” an audio series featuring bits of wisdom from the 70-year-old vice president-cum-meme machine. Biden, Louis-Dreyfus says, probably ignored it all. “Which is why he’s such a wise vice president,” she says in the clip.

By the way, HBO Chief Executive Richard Plepler donated $5,000 last year to President Obama and Biden’s re-election campaign, according to Federal Election Commission records.
