Wednesday:
>> “AfroFuturistic” with DJs Stylus, Jahsonic and Senyo takes place at Tropicalia where they’ll be spinning the foward-thinking music of the African diaspora. $5. 8 p.m.

Thursday:
>> As the head of the innovative electronic music label Brainfeeder, Flying Lotus has been responsible for pushing the musical envelope but he’s also done that as a solo artist, most recently under his rap alias Captain Murphy. The L.A. native is on tour with his artists Thundercat and Teebs with a stop at the 9:30 Club. The show is sold out but Craigslist provides some possibilities to get in the door. 10 p.m.

Friday:
>> The Sol Power All-Stars present their every-other week party “Shrine” at Tropicalia featuring music from the African diaspora. Free. 11 p.m.

Saturday:
>> The Turquoise Jeep crew takes a humorous approach to hip-hop and R&B in the vein of The Lonely Island, as is evident in their YouTube videos. They’ll be at the U Street Music Hall along with Kosha Dillz. $20. 7 p.m.

>> For over a decade now, Fabolous has been a player on the hip-hop scene while Pusha T has also been successful, primarily as a member of the duo The Clipse. Both will take to the Howard Theatre‘s stage. $36.50 in advance / $40 at the door. 8 p.m.

Monday:
