The D.C. Paperhaus released a video yesterday for their song “Helicopters,” from their forthcoming EP, Lo Hi Lo. The video, directed by Nigel Lyons, shifts from black and white to color as Paperhaus guitarist Eduardo Rivera’s daily grind becomes a trippy battle through crowded dance floors and cardboard weapons to save the girl of his dreams. The North Country’s Andrew Grossman plays the part of the evil villain and members of Lightfoot and Pree also have quick cameos. Some places in the video might also look familiar since it was shot at various Petworth locales, including the band’s own house, a veritable DIY spot. Lo Hi Lo comes out May 28; Paperhaus returns to town on June 7th.

Disclosure: I was an extra in this video. You can see me in the background laughing about four seconds in. You would be laughing, too, if you were reading this aloud.
