Inspired by artists Jackson Pollock and Alfonso Ossorio, who both lived in the Hamptons, join in for a “Pollock-inspired group splatter painting” and a gallery talk on “Cradle of Abstract Expressionism: Pollock and Ossorio in East Hampton.” There will also be live jazz from the Marshall Keys Quartet, frozen custard from Shake Shack, cocktails, and an animated short on Jackson Pollock. 5 to 8:30 p.m. $12.
FOOD & DRINK: Old Line (11011 Baltimore Avenue, Beltsville, Md.) is hosting a Sam Adams “For the Love of Boston” Beer Event to raise money for The One Fund Boston. The five courses of the meal will be paired with six Samuel Adams beers, and the menu includes: Belgian Session and Blueberry Hill Lager paired with a charcuterie plate with sides of citrus and mango, Little White Rye paired with rueben bites, Summer Ale paired with whole fried clams, Porch Rocker paired with key lime bites, and Boston Lager paired with chocolates from TCHO Chocolatiers of San Francisco. 7 p.m. Tickets: $25 ($10 of each ticket with be donated to The One Fund Boston).
ART TALK: Hear artist Kota Ezawa discuss “A History of ‘Poor Animation'” in the Hirshhorn’s Ring Auditorium (7th Street and Independence Avenue SW) this evening. Ezawa’s “work addresses the conception of history as strings of images that have entered our collective consciousness.” 7 p.m. Free.
