The Air Force officer in charge of a sexual assault prevention unit was arrested early Sunday morning by Arlington Police on sexual battery charges. According to a police report, Lt. Col. Jeffrey Krusinski, was arrested about 12:35 a.m. after he allegedly approached a female victim in a parking lot on South 23rd Street and groped her breasts and buttocks.

Krusinski, 41, had been in charge of an Air Force tasked with responding to and preventing sexual assault in the military branch. Police say the victim fought off Krusinski after he allegedly attempted to touch her a second time.

NBC News reports that Krusinski has been removed from his post in charge of the Air Force’s sexual abuse prevention unit. He was held on $5,000 bond.
