Every year there is another group of British bands who get hyped like crazy by U.S. critics. Usually, such hype is on the back of a single released the previous year that gets overplayed by the likes of NME and the BBC. Last year’s crop included the absolutely boring bands Alt-J and Django Django, so it is exciting that this year’s buzzy bands include some some actual rockers. Palma Violets‘s hype grew steadily last year mostly spawning from the noise around their single, and killer track, “Best Of Friends.” The track, which topped NME’s list of best songs of 2012, is a happy barroom sing-along, and if Rock and Roll Hotel’s crowd responds the same way the crowd does in the video, it is sure to be a fun time.
