After delighting gaggles of congressional staffers with his mere appearance on Capitol Hill yesterday, Prince Harry is continuing his week-long visit to the United States today on a more somber note.
Harry is stopping today at Arlington National Cemetery and later at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Upon arriving at Arlington this morning, Harry stopped by Section 60, the burial plot for soldiers killed since 2001 in Afghanistan, Iraq, and anti-terrorism campaigns. Harry, who is a captain in the British Army, has served two tours in Afghanistan, most recently last year not long after a controversial visit to Las Vegas.
Along with laying a wreath at Section 60, Harry also left a signed note: “To my comrades-in-arms of the United States of America, who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in the cause of freedom.” The note is signed “Capt. Harry Wales,” the name he uses while in military service.
