Seeking an internship away from the daily grind? Hate puns, but love coffee?

Qualia Coffee in Petworth is seeking roasting interns, as the Going out Guide reports. Applicants must be able to work at three days a week, commit for at least a year as a paid part-time or full-time employee* and possess “a deep and abiding interest in coffee as a natural product,” according to Qualia’s Web site.

Qualia roasts all beans it serves in house, a point of pride for the coffee shop. In a blog post about the roasting process, Qualia’s owner Joel Finkelstein said those who enter the roasting room become “entranced by the … process.”

The internship is unpaid, but depending on how much you spend on coffee it may be worth it. “Copious” amounts of free coffee will be available to the intern.

*Update: The post originally didn’t state that interns need to commit to a year as a paid part-time or full-time employee. It has been updated to clarify.
