Here’s video of the Washington Monument that even the acrophobic can enjoy.
On the heels of the National Park Service’s view from the top, the U.S. Department of the Interior released a time-lapse video showing scaffolding going up around the Washington Monument in less than two minutes. In reality, it took about two months for crews to complete this leg of the project.
The scaffolding wasn’t put up just so we could watch cool videos about it. There’s a two-year repair job currently underway to fix damage caused by the great(ly terrifying) earthquake of 2011.
