There’s a happy ending for the murder-hating D.C. man who sought a wedding date of Craigslist.

The gentleman, who asked to be identified as Jake, told DCist that a woman he has a crush on reached out to him on Facebook and offered to be his date to a friend’s Lexington, Va. wedding.

After a last minute cancellation, Jake posted a Craigslist ad last week looking for a wedding date because, as he said, “you only YOLO once.” He then put the ad on his Facebook page, where a woman named Andrea he knows through his volunteer work with Dreams For Kids saw it. His two-year crush reached out to him through Facebook and offered to be his date.

Andrea thought the ad was very funny, Jake said, adding that she agreed to be his date before the ad was covered by Gawker and NPR, in addition to the coverage it got on DCist earlier in the week. As most celebrities will tell you, it’s important to meet your significant other before fame comes a-knockin’.

While Jake said he didn’t count the number of responses to the ad he received, he estimates that he got over 200 replies. Jake said the majority of responses were “very positive and sincere,” with just a few strange ones sent.

“Needless to say we both had the time of our lives at the wedding and will be hanging out again soon,” Jake said. Washingtonians should expect many Craigslist copycats, thanks to Jake’s success. Remember to post a photo of yourself riding a lion.
