FOOD AND BIKE: As if ripped from a Portlandia sketch, Dinner and Bikes stops in D.C. with an intersection of veganism and cycle advocacy. The dinner, a 27-city tour, features remarks by Elly Blue, a writer and bike blogger, and a vegan, gluten-free dinner cooked up by Joshua Ploeg, a traveling vegan and raw foods chef. At All Souls Unitarian Church (1500 Harvard Street NW), 6 p.m. Tickets $20.

SCIENCE: Neuroscientist Robert Provine explores yawning, laughing, hiccuping, and other Curious Behavior at the DC Science Cafe event at Busboys and Poets (1025 5th Street NW) tonight. Provine delves into into what he calls “sidewalk neuroscience,” investigations of daily live that reveal our evolutionary origins and how our brains work. 6:30-8:30 p.m. Free.

PAGEANT: Cheer on some local studs at the Mr. District of Columbia Pageant at Penn Social (801 E Street NW) tonight. The fine fellas will be showing off their talents, answering questions onstage, and runwaying some formal wear. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. 6:30 p.m. Tickets: $10 in advance, $15 at the door.

MUSIC: Coke Bust, Blockhead, Mislead Youth, and Vile Faith bring DC hardcore to the Black Cat Backstage (1811 14th Street NW). 8 p.m. $10.
