>> Legendary DJ Todd Terry comes to town for a “Red Fridays” set at U Street Music Hall. 10 p.m. Free before midnight. $10 after midnight.
Sunday:
>> As part of one of the most successful female groups ever, Kelly Rowland has already made her musical mark. Now working a solo angle, the (former) Destiny’s Child songstress has garnered radio play lately with “Kisses Down Low”. She’ll be at the Fillmore along with her opening act, Grammy-winning singer-songwriter The-Dream. 8 p.m. Tickets $35.
>> House DJ Carlos Mena returns to D.C. for a set at Eighteenth Street Lounge as a part of their Memorial Day weekend celebration. 9:30 p.m. Price to be determined.
>> The “Axel F.” party took a hiatus last month with the promise of coming back big in May. While DJs Jahsonic, Stylus and Adrian Loving are still spinning their selections of ’80’s champagne soul and lazer funk, there’s a prom theme so dress accordingly. Additionally, the prom brings with it a larger venue, the Howard Theatre. 10:30 p.m. Tickets $10
