OUTDOOR MOVIE: By now, you probably know all you want about Star Trek Into Darkness: Its plot contrivances, the lack of a colon between “Trek” and “Into,” and yes, the true identity of the villain played by Benedict Cumberbatch. But tonight’s NoMa Summer Screen show takes us back to the first foray into J.J. Abrams’ lens-flare-filled final frontier, with the 2009 reboot Star Trek, which is a fine movie, but it’s unclear how a story in which the hero’s arc leads him to a military command fits the NoMa Summer Screen’s theme of “Outlaw Heroes,” but hey, it beats having to watch Zachary Quinto yell “Khaaaaan!” Begins at sundown. At Loree Grand Field (Second and L streets NE). Free.

FOOD & DRINK: Helix Lounge brings back its popular “Backyard Bash” happy hour special every Wednesday from today through Labor Day. For $8, diners can get a burger and a bag of Utz potato chips on the hotel bar’s patio. At the Hotel Helix (1430 Rhode Island NW).

MUSIC: In their years anchoring now-defunct Sockets Records, the members of Imperial China played hard, mathy, spacey, and post-post-hardcore rock that honored their D.C. musical forebears while carving out their own sonic legacy. But now they’re done. The three-piece band plays its final show—at least until they presumably get goaded into reuniting at Fort Reno in some distant year—at the Black Cat Backstage (1811 14th Street NW) tonight. Tereu Tereu and May Tabol open. At 8 p.m. Tickets $12.
