In an attempt to make sex safer for D.C. residents, the city’s Department of Health will premiere a new commercial promoting condom use, which will somehow convince people who don’t use prophylactics to do so in either 30 or 60 seconds.

The spot will premiere at Ozio’s Restaurant and Lounge tonight and will begin airing Tuesday on channels including VH1 and Bravo, according to the Associated Press. The ad is called “Take on the Night,” which doesn’t offer too many clues about what Washingtonians will be seeing until July between episodes of “Top Chef” or “Mob Wives.”

The ad is part of the city’s Rubber Revolution campaign, which launched in 2010. Past print ads encouraging condom use featured shirtless people embracing while thinking about how sexy safe sex is. (Or something.)

Rubber Revolution offers free condoms to the city’s residents, who can simply text DCWRAP to have a few delivered.

There’s hope that the commercial will be, at least, a little creative. The D.C. Department of Health launched a “Don’t smoke fake weed!” campaign earlier this year that featured zombies, which are pretty hip right now.
