Four D.C. firefighters have been accused of sexually assaulting a female firefighter.

Fire and EMS spokesman Tim Wilson confirmed that four firefighters have been placed on administrative duties following the alleged incident, which he said occurred early Friday morning at a firehouse on M Street NW. According to WNEW, the female firefighter was awakened by someone touching her thigh.

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating.

The D.C Fire Fighters Association released a statement to WUSA: “We are watching this situation closely and are concerned anytime there are such allegations. Local 36 represents all of the firefighters and urges the department to conduct a thorough investigation in a timely manner that is fair to all.”
