Some of us are lucky enough to live in D.C. every day. (No, that is not a joke.) Others must resort to desperate measures to get here.
An 18-year-old Arizona kid apparently faked his own death so he could take a trip to D.C. to visit a friend. The Mojave Daily News has more:
That’s the conclusion of a report released Wednesday by the Bullhead City Police Department in the disappearance — and subsequent reappearance — of 18-year-old Jordan “Brady” Renner. Police spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said the investigation is continuing and attempts are ongoing “to reach out to Renner to obtain more details about the circumstances of his disappearance.”
She also indicated that once the investigation is completed by local police, the case will be forwarded to the Mohave County Attorney’s Office for review of possible criminal charges and restitution for the cost of emergency services and resources incurred by authorities in a search for a man who was actually more than 2,000 miles away.
According to Wednesday’s report, “police believe that Renner faked his own death and took a Greyhound bus to Washington, D.C., to visit a friend.”
That’s right: This kid allegedly faked his own death then rode in a Greyhound bus for 35 hours!
Renner was found in D.C. last week after being reported missing, telling Capitol Police he had been kidnapped. His disappearance led to a frantic search, as his friends and family thought he had taken a night swim.
But it seems the big city was calling Renner. Maybe he heard about our abundant parks or delicious stadium food?
