SHORT FILMS: The EuroAsia Shorts 2013 press release summed it up best: “Six Nights. Nine cultures. One theme: The Future.” This week at embassies and cultural centers around D.C. come out for short films from Europe, Asia, and the United States. MOVIE: What if the X-Ray Spex advertised in the back of old comic books were real? In X, the Man with the X-Ray Eyes, director star Ray Milland explores just that in a low-budget thriller. FUNDRAISER: Atlas Arcade (1236 H Street NE) is holding a benefit, “Save Patrick’s Day,” for its bartender who was recently robbed. The drinks will be cheap and all tips go to Pat. Some games will be freeplay.

WEDNESDAY: Grab your Schwinn and join up with DC Bike Party for a ten mile “Undercover” themed ride this Wednesday. Participants are encouraged to dress up in Spy vs. Spy inspired apparel: “think black and white, sunglasses at night, and fedoras.” The route is top secret, but will end at Hawk n’ Dove. Meet at 7:30 p.m. at the Dupont Circle fountain, the ride leaves promptly at 8:00 p.m. Free.

THURSDAY: Brewmaster Jef Versele (of Gulden Draak and Piraat) comes to Jack Rose (2007 18th Street NW) this Thursday for a tap takeover and Pirate Party. Those dressed in their best pirate duds will have the chance to win Piraat prizes. 6:00-9:00 p.m.

FRIDAY: Brightest Young Things and Nat Geo are teaming up this Friday to celebrate 125 Years of Exploration. Come out to the National Geographic Society (1600 M Street NW) for access to the museum, lightning talks from Nat Geo Explorers, an interactive robotics demo, punches from around the world, comedy, DJs, and more. 8:00 p.m.-1:00 a.m. $20 until this Wednesday, $25 after that.
