TUESDAY

WEDNESDAY
Iceage are a group of Danish punks and recent signees to Matador Records. Their sophomore record, You’re Nothing, released early this year, is an extreme listen, but their live show is even more intense. Check out the band tear Rock and Roll Hotel to pieces with Lower, True Head and Mob Mentality. 8 p.m. $14.
>> U Street Music Hall: The Olms (Pete Yorn & JD Kind). 6 p.m. $20
THURSDAY
Ireland’s Villagers are a symphonic indie folk band that just released their second album, Awayland. The band may be folk, but they’re more like Grizzly Bear than Mumford and Sons. Catch them at Rock and Roll Hotel with San Fermin. 7 p.m. $15.
>> Black Cat: Saul Williams, Sha’Air Sounds. 8 p.m. $20.
>> DC9: Make Do and Mend, Cheap Girls, Diamond Youth. 7 p.m. $12.
FRIDAY
Will Wiesenfeld, a.k.a. Baths, is a glitch-hop beat maker not afraid to bare his soul on a record. His music is his own take on pop, but with a dark twist. Baths will surely thrill at the Black Cat with Houses and D33J.
>> Verizon Center: New Kids on The Block, Boys II Men, 98 Degrees. 7 p.m. $40.
SATURDAY
Smooth R&B is all the rage, and producer Robin Hannibal can take credit for helping to breathe new life into the genre. Hannibal has been making records for a long time now and received breakout success earlier this year as part of the duo, Rhye. He isn’t slowing down. Hannibal’s duo with Coco O, Quadron, is on the verge of success with their “Song of the Summer” contender, “Hey Love.” Tonight they open for Junip and Barbarossa at the 9:30 Club. 8 p.m. $20.
>> Black Cat: Twin Shadow, Elliphant. 9 p.m. $20.
>> Fillmore Silver Spring: Hanson, Honor By August. 8 p.m. $30.
SUNDAY
The first time The XX played D.C., it was all the way back in 2009 at a very sold out DC9. Four years later, the band returns to this area to co-headline with Grizzly Bear at Merriweather Post Pavilion for what is sure to be the chillest show of the summer. 6 p.m. $30-$40.
>> DC9: PAWS, Twin Peaks, Positive No. 8 p.m. $10.
>> The Dunes: Prince Rama.
