Iceage, a punk band that hails from Copenhagen, is returning to the area tonight. Along for the ride is Lower, another band of Danish punks on their first U.S. tour. While Iceage is nihilistic and in your face, Lower is a compromise, making music heavily indebted to post-punk. Lower is primed for a breakout, as this year has already had a breakout post-punk album in Savages’s debut record. “Another Life” is a new track from the band, and it is packed with tension. Pounding drums give it a strong post-punk vibe, while the guitars and spoken/sung vocals are steeped in 80’s hardcore.
