Tremble in fear, D.C., as ‘Super Moon’ is set to return to our fair city this weekend. No, there is no escaping ‘Super Moon.’ Wherever you go, it will be there; that big (like really fucking big), luminescent, sinister-looking disc, just sitting there, looming, waiting to destroy you.

As the Capital Weather Gang reports, ‘Super Moon’ happens when an impending full moon coincides with its closest approach to Earth during its orbit. That moment—its perigree—isn’t expected to hit until Sunday morning, at approxiamately 7:11 a.m., when the moon is only 221,894 miles away, according to the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada.

Though the perigree—which will make the moon appear 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter—won’t hit until Sunday morning, the moon will still loom quite large the rest of the weekend.
