Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is known for his love of animal parks all over, especially the Smithsonian’s National Zoo. In the past, for instance, he has tweeted out his love for a pair of newborn cheetah cubs.
Rusty, the red panda that went missing some time between last night and this morning, is also quite adorable. But as much as Gingrich and his wife, Callista, love the animals, they are not to blame for Rusty’s disappearance. The zoo says that it is possible that someone removed the creature.
