Let’s face it: We’ve all made mistakes. Yes, even you. But the schadenfreude derived from some errors make them too wonderful not to share.

Radford University recently sent out over 1,000 diplomas to 2013 graduates with the word “Virginia” misspelled on it. The mistake was pointed out on Reddit and confirmed by officials of the public university to the Washington Times.

A Radford official told the Times that 1,300 undergraduate and graduate diplomas, to be exact, were printed with the final “i” missing from the state name.

Reactions on Twitter to the misspelling were about what you’d expect when an institution of higher learning makes a mistake of this variety. One graduated lamented, “And after all the money I give Radford they write “VirgINA” on my diploma.” Another found the humor in the situation: “Hahahaha Radford spelt Virginia wrong on our diplomas…..smh only Radford lol.”

Update: Radford spokesman Joe Carpenter explained to the AP how the error happened: “The error was caused when an employee retyped the narrative on the diploma after the software that produces them was upgraded in 2012.”
