At long last, the summer concert schedule for Fort Reno is finally out. As reported earlier today, the season begins with a show by The Evens, the husband-and-wife band made up of Ian MacKaye and Amy Farina. This years lineup is coming a few days later than in previous years, but now you know where you’ll be spending your Monday and Thursday evenings for five weeks beginning in early July
Among this year’s acts are past subjects of the Three Stars column, including Typefighter, Southern Problems, and Priests. The season closes out with Paint Branch, the recently formed duo made up of Q and Not U alumni Chris Richards and John Davis.
No TBDs on the schedule this year, but who knows, we can always hold out hope that a more dates will be added. Perhaps an impromptu appearance by The Dismemberment Plan? After all, they’ve got an album to promote. But if there are any more announcements, they’ll likely come out over the Fort Reno concert series’ website. Amanda MacKaye, who programs the concerts in the park on D.C.’s highest hill, told The Washington Post that she’s finished with social media.
