While another National Zoo animal has been stealing all the headlines lately (you know who you are), let’s not forget about the dear Fishing Cat kitten born in May.
The last time we checked in, the kitten was nameless and being weighed in a tiny container. The kitten is now named, but its gender is still unknown. That’s because Wasabi has yet to undergo a veterinarian exam, according to the Zoo’s communication department.
As the video shows, mom Electra and Wasabi spent some time in a plastic baby pool with some very unlucky goldfish. (R.I.P. goldfish.) According to the Zoo, the lesson took about ten minutes. “At 11 or 12 weeks old, Wasabi will be a great fisher like Electra,” the Zoo notes in the video’s description. “For now, toys and mom’s tail are as enticing as fish.”
