The search for a seven-year-old boy who went missing Sunday in Northeast D.C. continues.
Michael Kingsbury went missing between 9 and 9:30 a.m Sunday from his home near the 1700 block of West Virginia Avenue NE in the Trinidad neighborhood, the Metropolitan Police Department said. The child, who was last seen wearing only a Pull-Up, is autistic, weighs around 60 pounds and has dreadlocks.
As of 8:40 a.m. today, an MPD spokeswoman said Michael is still missing.
The boy’s mother, Katrina Kingsbury, told WJLA her son went into the backyard to play Sunday morning, but then disappeared. In an interview with NBC4, Kingsbury said it was unusual for Michael to leave the backyard: “As many times as he’s been out here and played, he’s never left the backyard. He knows not to go in to the street.”
Anyone with information regarding Michael Kingsbury is asked to call the Metropolitan Police Department at (202) 727-9099, the Youth Investigations Division at (202) 576-6768, or 911.
